Purpose:

The School Library and Youth Services (SLAYS) section works to keep its members up to date and abreast of the latest trends and issues in youth librarianship. It also serves as the platform for nominating literary works that are deemed excellent reads for youth in North Dakota. Furthermore, SLAYS is a driving force behind finding continuing education opportunities for its members.




SLAYS MEMBER OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Continuing education sponsored by the section, affiliated organizations and more
  • Leadership opportunities 
  • Forums to network and collaborate with other school and youth services librarians
  • Option to serve on the Flickertale Committee (ND Youth Book Award) 
  • Session and poster presentations at the NDLA Annual Conference



    HOW TO JOIN SLAYS:

    1) If you are not a NDLA member, complete the online membership form. Select the 'section' option(s) when prompted.

    2) If you are already a NDLA member, select the section option within your member profile.

    You can join multiple sections without additional cost.
